How to Set Up Stripe on Lynkdo: Complete Guide to Start Selling

Want to sell digital products or accept donations on your Lynkdo page? You'll need to connect a Stripe account first. Stripe is a trusted global payment platform used by millions of businesses, and Lynkdo uses Stripe Connect to handle all payments securely.

This guide walks you through everything — from preparing your page to completing your Stripe application.

Before You Apply: Get Your Page Ready

Important: Before connecting Stripe, make sure your Lynkdo page looks professional and complete. Stripe reviews accounts, and a well-set-up page increases your chances of quick approval.

Here's your checklist before applying:

1. Complete Your Profile

  • Add a profile photo — A real photo or professional logo
  • Write a bio — Clearly describe who you are and what you do
  • Choose a clean username — This is your public URL (lynkdo.bio/yourusername)
  • Add at least 3-5 links to your page
  • Include your social media profiles (Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, etc.)
  • Add your website or portfolio if you have one
  • Make sure all links are working and lead to real pages

3. Customize Your Design

  • Pick a background that doesn't hide your text
  • Choose contrasting colors so everything is readable
  • Select a font that matches your brand
  • Make your page look professional and complete

4. Publish Your Page

  • Your page must be published before you can apply for Stripe
  • Go to Edit → Publish and make sure your page is live
  • Visit your page at lynkdo.bio/yourusername to verify it looks good

5. Verify Your Email

  • Make sure your email is verified in Settings
  • This is required for both Lynkdo and Stripe

How Stripe Connect Works on Lynkdo

Lynkdo uses Stripe Connect — this means:

  • You create your own Stripe account (linked to Lynkdo)
  • Payments from customers go through Stripe
  • Stripe deposits money directly into your bank account
  • Lynkdo only takes a small platform fee (0-5% depending on your plan)
  • You keep full control of your earnings

Supported Payment Methods

Once connected, your customers can pay with:

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex)
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • And more depending on your country

Step-by-Step: Connecting Stripe

Step 1: Go to Settings

Open your Lynkdo dashboard and navigate to Settings. Scroll down to the Stripe Connect section.

Step 2: Select Your Country

Choose the country where your bank account is located. This is important — it determines which documents Stripe will ask for.

Note: Stripe is available in 40+ countries. If your country isn't listed, Stripe may not be available in your region yet.

Step 3: Click "Connect with Stripe"

This will redirect you to Stripe's onboarding page. You'll leave Lynkdo temporarily to complete the Stripe application.

Step 4: Fill Out Your Stripe Application

Stripe will ask for the following information:

Personal Information

  • Full legal name — Must match your ID
  • Date of birth
  • Home address
  • Phone number

Business Information

  • Business type — Individual or Company
  • What you sell — Describe your digital products clearly
  • Business website — Use your Lynkdo page URL: lynkdo.bio/yourusername

Tip: When asked for your website, enter your Lynkdo page URL. This is why your page needs to look professional!

Bank Account

  • Bank account number or IBAN
  • Routing number (if applicable)
  • This is where Stripe will send your earnings

Identity Verification

  • Government-issued ID — Passport, driver's license, or national ID card
  • Selfie (in some countries) — For identity confirmation
  • Make sure photos are clear and readable

Step 5: Submit and Wait for Approval

After submitting:

  • Most accounts are approved within minutes
  • Some accounts may take 1-2 business days for manual review
  • You'll receive an email from Stripe when your account is active

Step 6: Return to Lynkdo

Once approved, go back to Settings → Stripe Connect in Lynkdo. You should see:

  • Status: Active (green)
  • Charges Enabled: Yes
  • Payouts Enabled: Yes

Congratulations! You can now accept payments on your Lynkdo page.

What Can You Do After Connecting Stripe?

Sell Digital Products

  • Go to Products → Create Product
  • Upload your digital files (PDF, ZIP, MP3, etc.)
  • Set your price and publish
  • Customers can buy directly from your page

Accept Donations

  • Go to Edit → Donate tab
  • Enable donations on your page
  • Set suggested amounts or let supporters choose
  • Accept one-time or monthly recurring donations

Track Your Earnings

  • View sales and donations in Analytics
  • See revenue breakdown by product
  • Export your data as CSV

Tips for Getting Approved Faster

  1. Use your real name — Must match your ID exactly
  2. Complete your Lynkdo page first — A blank page looks suspicious
  3. Add a clear description — Explain what you sell in simple terms
  4. Use high-quality ID photos — No blur, no glare, all corners visible
  5. Make sure your bank details are correct — Double-check account numbers
  6. Use a verified email — Both on Lynkdo and Stripe

Common Issues and Solutions

"Your account is restricted"

This usually means Stripe needs additional documents. Check your email for instructions from Stripe, or go to your Stripe dashboard to see what's needed.

"Charges not enabled"

Your account is still being reviewed. Wait 1-2 business days. If it persists, contact Stripe support.

"Country not supported"

Stripe isn't available in all countries. Check Stripe's supported countries list to see if yours is included.

"Site not published" error in Lynkdo

You need to publish your Lynkdo page before connecting Stripe. Go to Edit → Publish your page first.

Platform Fees by Plan

Lynkdo charges a small platform fee on each transaction:

PlanPlatform FeeMonthly Price
Free5%$0
Creator3%$5/month
Pro1%$15/month
Global Creator0%$35/month

Note: Stripe also charges its own processing fee (typically 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction). This is separate from Lynkdo's platform fee.

Summary

Here's the quick version:

  1. Prepare your page — Profile photo, bio, links, design, publish
  2. Go to Settings → Stripe Connect → Select country
  3. Complete Stripe application — Personal info, business info, bank account, ID verification
  4. Get approved — Usually within minutes
  5. Start selling — Products, donations, and more

Your Lynkdo page is your storefront. The better it looks, the smoother your Stripe approval will be. Take 10 minutes to make it professional before applying — it makes all the difference.
